LFW | A ROUNDUP

Sorry I'm a bit late with this... Much to my surprise I wasn't actually blown away by what I saw over London Fashion Week this season, but there were a few stand out collections that I really wanted to share on here! I love the relaxed, boyish silhouettes of Markus Lupfer and McQ and I thought some of the David Koma pieces were super sexy in a cool Seventies way, (with a bit of a sic-fi twist)! You can check out all of the other looks I liked on Pinterest here :)

NYFW | A ROUNDUP

Yesterday saw the start of London Fashion Week AW15-16. I've been super busy with work so if I'm honest I haven't had the energy to get too involved this year, but even so, with social media at my fingertips it's pretty hard to ignore! I will actually be heading into central for a few shows tomorrow though so please come and say hi if you see me!

I've been pinning all of my favourite AW15 looks so far here and will be continuing to do so for the next few weeks, but for now here's also a quick rundown of my favourite collections from New York! Which have been your favourite shows so far?

THE FIRST DAY OF SUMMER

Last weekend was bloody lovely! I spent Saturday styling and art directing a sci fi themed photoshoot - I was working with some fab designer pieces and the team was great so I can't wait to show you the finished images! I had a quiet night in with Matt that evening, watching Green Wing and editing photos, then on Sunday morning the weather was so beautiful that we decided to go to Springfield Park for a picnic!

These photos were taken by the canal in Clapton - I was wearing vintage high waist shorts with a Cure tee that I bought from a vintage shop in Southampton YEARS ago. I really should update my t-shirt collection.

After our picnic we went for a walk before I headed to Meroretro for a little blogger's event organised by the lovely Julia of Stylonylon. It was a wonderful afternoon, I will be sure to get some photos up for you soon. Have a great weekend everyone!

H&M | LCF IllUSTRATION POP-UP

Last week I was lucky enough to attend the opening of LCF'S Illustration pop-up at H&M's Oxford Circus store in London. Until the 29th the store's 4th floor lounge has been transformed into a pop-up gallery showcasing the work of some of London College of Fashion's most promising BA Fashion Illustration graduates.

Put together by five selected students, the exhibition interprets the latest fashion trends inspired by H&M's current collection. My personal favourites were by illustrator Joseph Larkowski, whose minimal and stylised sketches capture this season's looks in a fun and feminine way whilst focusing around the denim trend. You can see his work here, and if you're in London between now and Sunday make sure you visit the 4th floor to check out the gallery!

BRAND | BIRD ON A WIRE VINTAGE

You may or may not have noticed a new banner appear on my blog recently --> Bird on a Wire Vintage are a new sponsor of Fashion your Seatbelts, (yay!), and I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce you to them, just in case you hadn't stumbled across them on your own already that is! They sell a fab selection of affordable vintage, and they're London based, so that's pretty cool! Here I'm wearing a lovely heart blouse, which they kindly sent to me, I've matched it with a simple pair of denim shorts and my new sandals!

DRESSING FOR WINTER

Recently I've been spending most of my days in comfortable turn up jeans and baggy jumpers - I basically wish I could live in my pajamas 24/7 - but sometimes I do like to break out of my slouchy routine and put on tights and a dress, oooh adventurous! I definitely slip into a little fashion rut in winter, I just have a selection of jumpers that I wear with either grey, blue or black jeans!

I love that there are so many different jumpers to choose from in the world.... the possibilities are endless! Peter Hahn has a vast selection that you may want to check out. Here I'm wearing a roll neck over one of my favourite dresses; still toasty warm but a little more feminine than my usual boyish attire.

IS IT SPRING YET?

With Spring only 23 days away, (I looked it up), I've found myself thinking about what I'll be wearing in the warmer months to come. More than anything I'm looking forward to bare-leg days in high waisted shorts and tucked in tees... but I'm also a fan of simple loose dresses thrown on with socks and sandals in summertime. Thoughts of late night BBQs in a dress and snuggly roll neck and barefoot picnics in the park are already dancing before my eyes! But hey, summer seems years away so let's get back to reality.

The other week I treated myself to this adorable pair of Office t-bar shoes thinking they'd look good in Spring/Summer with ankle socks... I can't wait to wear them with my dungarees! I was also recently given this dress by Lavish Alice*; I love the scalloped edge detail and it's a beautiful blue... I'm sure it'll be getting lots of wear when the weather FINALLY peaks!

NAUTICAL FEELING

Last week I was sent this gorgeous navy, linen dress by Great Plains. I'm in dire need of dresses to wear this summer and I'm absolutely delighted with this little number! Not only is it linen, so very lightweight and cool, but I love the colour and it has a real nautical feel about it. I don't really do the nautical thing, (it reminds me of my former 14-year-old pierced faced, anchor smothered self), but i do like how subtle this is. It's subtle, but I can still picture myself wearing it on a boat, lounging about in the sunshine.... bring on summer I say!

NEW SUNGLASSES...

I was recently sent some sunglasses from a company called Zero UV, who have an amazing range of super cool sunglasses all at bargain prices! I'm sure you'll be seeing a lot more of their frames on my blog over the coming summer, but for now, here's a cheeky picture of Matt photographing me taking a selfie in my new shades!

Be sure to check out Zero UV here!
